How To Make GRILLED TOMATOES WITH BASIL LEAVES

GRILLED TOMATTOES WITH BASIL LEAVES

INGREDIENTS:

- A Few Firms Ripe Tomatoes

- Few Fresh Basil Leaves (As to your preference)

- Olive Oil (As to your preference)

- Black Pepper (As to your preference)

- Salt (As to your preference)

Remark: Tomato Not overly ripe or they will fall apart when you grill them.

DIRECTIONS:

STEP 1

Cut tomatoes in half, around the middle, and remove the watery pulp and seeds from tomatoes. (Although the seeds and pulp contain a lot of flavor, when you grill the tomatoes they are going to be lost anyway.)

STEP 1

Preheat the kitchen grill pan or outside grill for direct grilling, for the outside grill use a grill basket or fine grill grate if you can, it will make it much easier to cook the tomatoes (or any other vegetables you grill).

STEP 2

Season the tomatoes with salt and black pepper as to your preference. For the outside grill, brush the sliced side of the tomatoes and the grill grate-pan with olive oil.

STEP 3

Place the sliced tomatoes, sliced side down on the grill, cover the grill and let it cook for about 4 minutes, but check on them after 2 minutes. Use a metal spatula to lift tomatoes off of the grill for serving.

STEP 4

Grab some thinly sliced basil leaves, roll them up, and then slice them to make nice thin slices.

STEP 5

Place on a serving dish, cut side facing upwards, drizzle a little more olive oil as to your preference on the tomatoes, sprinkle with just a little more salt and black pepper as to your preference, then add your thinly sliced basil as to your preference, Enjoy!
